Sometimes we do not understand the worth of life and take life for granted. If you carefully observe, a lot of things within the arena of our life are taken for granted - work, relationships, health, values, etc. We sometimes understand things when we have to pay for them or sometimes continue living in ignorance until we add up more complications into our lives due to that ignorance. Kids teach us a lot about life because they have that purity in them. Their level of thinking is much higher than an adult because they speak and see through their soul. The story will make you let know how children think through logic and understanding through that part of the soul that we may never even know exists within us under huge layers of ignorance. A store owner was tacking a sign above his door that read: "Puppies For Sale". Signs like that have a way of attracting small children and sure enough, a little boy appeared under the store owner's sign. "How much are you going to sell the puppies for?" he asked. The store owner replied, "Anywhere from $30 to $50." The little boy reached in his pocket and pulled out some change. "I have $2.37," he said. "Can I please look at them?" The store owner smiled and whistled and out of the kennel came Lady, who ran out in the aisle of his store followed by five teeny, tiny balls of fur. One puppy was lagging considerably behind. Immediately the little boy singled out the lagging, limping puppy and said, "What's wrong with that little dog?" The store owner explained that the veterinarian had examined the little puppy and had discovered it didn't have a hip socket. It would always be lame. The little boy became excited. "That is the puppy that I want to buy." The store owner said, "No, you don't want to buy that little dog. 
If you really want him, I'll just give him to you." The little boy got quite upset. He looked straight into the store owner's eyes, pointing his finger, and said, "I don't want you to give him to me. That little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and I'll pay full price. In fact, I'll give you $2.37 now, and 50 cents a month until I have him paid for." The store owner countered, "You really don't want to buy this little dog. He is never going to be able to run and jump and play with you like the other puppies." To his surprise, the little boy reached down and rolled up his pant leg to reveal a badly twisted, crippled left leg supported by a big metal brace. He looked up at the store owner and softly replied, "Well, I don't run so well myself, and the little puppy will need someone who understands."


Don't we all need someone who understands? We only got to look around with the mind of this little one and we will have it!


It worked the same for the boy and the puppy. The boy knew the worth of live and life's blessings and thus saw the little spark in that little dog that was considered bad by the whole world. Nobody would choose it because everyone thought of their own comfort and what would be received back from the puppy that they would "invest" in. The same thing happened with the puppy. Its knowing that it would be rejected did not stop it from being playful or running along with the other puppies. It knew its worth and that is when the Universe brought to it the little boy who saw something more than what any others failed to see. Someone who understood the puppy because that he had been through something that made him know the value of life of self and others. In times of despair and trials, know that there is a hand out there in the Universe who will always approach you if you long for it. You are never alone no matter how much every deserted or crippled you feel when the world does not understand you. There is an invisible force that works for your well being if you desire it. The invisible forces work it out to get that unto your existence that which you long for and it will be delivered to you by some or the other means. Trust and let the forces do their job.

The third eye view

The third eye concept.. this is something that has always been a part of my thoughts as I grew up. I always encourge to see beyond your two physical eyes. Everything that we look we use our two eyes to absorb and send messages to the brain that in turns decides on what we have seen and frames out outlook or perspection on what we have seen. This perspection or decision about the outlook that the brain makes highly depends on lot of factors. It depends on who you are. Who you are is the sum total of all thoughts and experiences throughout all your lifetimes. This is why what one mind percieves can be totally opposite to what another mind percieves. Just like looking at a half glass of water as "half empty" and "half full" by two different people, the fact is that both are right but viewed as total opposites by two people. The one who sees half empty are the ones who constantly see emptiness in themselves and others and the one who sees half full is the one who sees fullness in self and others. Now, it is interesting to note that both views are very spontaneous and does not require lot of logic thinking. This spontaneity comes from the subconcious mind or the soul where all samskaras (impressions) are stored. So, at every given opportunity the mind pops up its own views depending on the accumulation of millions of such impressions or experiences or incidents.

This is how one dangerously performs ones own activities of daily life without any filter to what pops out of the subconcious. Almost all the thoughts are unfiltered and are allowed to be implemented in our physical plane as and when they pop from our subconcious, the results of which cause so much of unrest and confusion. This is where third eye helps. The third eye is not a physical organ but your own soul that is watchful. It is the awareness. Anything and everything that happens in life, if viewed from this third eye, which is divinely pure and true to the core, one has to have clarity in one's thoughts, words and actions. But, easier said than done, this still does not remain impossible to achieve. If we want the world to treat us rightly, to understand our views, to allow us be ourselves, then we have to develop the habit of seeing every moment through the third eye. Honesty activates in us with this third eye view. It is the extraordinary ability to judge one's own clarity of thought, word and action through the soul that is ever pure. Two examples. Our perception of right and wrong is similar to a judge in the court who looks at two set of people with two different opposing thought, word and action and finally gives verdict on what is right. Now, this depends highly on available "proof". It certainly need not be the right judgement because the verdict is based on available "logic" proof. Then, there is the God's judgement which beleivingly is supposed to be very acurate and unbiased in any form. Our minds always act as the judge and keep on looking around for validity, logic and proofs. Such judgement comes from the ego mind that again but comes from the sum total of all our experiences and samskaras (impressions) which can be totally wrong if one has had a majority cultivation of negativity. Now, the third eye view is the judgement of God. Since our soul is nothing but God in itself, it has the power to look at things like God is supposed to do. Allow this power to overtake and override all decisions we make, all things that we see and perceive. When this is practised slowly the pure soul begins to dominate one's ego mind. That is real victory! One will notice as one practices looking through the third eye that one has the courage to say "Yes, I am wrong" and when this happens know that the power of God within you has begun working.

Whenever there is a confrontation on any matter in life among two people or two situations there always exist three views to it. If you and me happen to confront each other, then there is your view, my view and the third angle view. What matters here for both should not be your view or my view but the third angle view - the view of God. If you and me both have the courage to chose this third angle then nothing will go wrong between us for both will soulfully understand what is right.; again, not your right or my right but what is "justly" right. What normally happens is that both the opposing people or set of people will infinately argue that they are right. Looking at one's own views and perceptions from their own set of samskaras (impressions) it is true that each one will be correct from their own point of view. But the solution lies actually in the third angle. This God's eye will help open up the fact of whose view is right. And, when both accept the decision of this unbiased judgment of the third eye, then one person will have the ease in accepting one's mistake while the other will never want to critisize or judge the other person's wrong because of the purity of chosing the inner God's view.

Keep practicing looking through this third eye and you will see things in clarity. You will see answers to lot of "whys" in your life. Life will become simpler yet rich. Everything will start falling into place. False views and false clothing about one's own self starts falling and one experiences connection with one's own divinity. But to bring this into your conciousness, this has to be consistently practiced - by being aware all the time of your own powerful third eye.. Stay blessed.

What's the commotion about 2012?

Type 2012 in google search and you will be awed at the responses that the search engine lists. Read through the articles or sites and you will know that people are talking heavily about the earth's doom or destruction of the world or the judgement day scheduled on December 21, 2012. You will have varied views on 2012 but what is sure from all the information is that there is something major expected on our planet during this earth. There are people who have started working towards it like getting into spiritualism, being God-fearing, learning meditation, etc. People advocate that we have to cleanse ourselves and the planet and try to spiritualize everyone as much as possible as a positive outcome to the event in 2012.

All the above holds to be true but unfortunately what everybody is focussing on is the DOOM of earth. 2012 certainly is a great year to look forward to expecting major changes on life in the Universe but certainly it need not be in the form of doom! I would not want to give you such "accurate" details about what will happen in 2012 because you can find the information on the internet. But importantly what I want to focus here on 2012 is the perception or outlook that we have about it. Change in the Universe is inevitable. So, just as there is day after night, it is quite natural for the Universe to undergo transitions and what we are having right now is bad to good, negitivity to positivity. If you look around closely you will observe that the earth had begun its changes long back. It could date back to the 1970's when changes started happening. There was lot of awakening happening. If you look around today these changes are happening at a massive rate at great intensities. Look around and you notice that natural calamities are on rise, new diseases are emerging, climatic changes are happening, there are more of interpersonal discords, voilence has increased, extinction of certain species are happening, people are not able to digest the same food that they lived on so comfortably, intolerance to petty things are getting more obvious, and so on... Also, on the other side if you look at things closely you will observe that due to all these changes people are pushed to the verge and to the ends of their limites and tolerance until they finally gasp in for pure air and help. More and more people are looking forward to learning new things, people are approaching natural methods of life like vegetarianism, ayurveda, yoga. There is more awareness of the body and attempts are constantly made to keep diseases and illnesses in control by being in touch with nature. Meditation was once a tabboo and today its the way of life.

So, what is happening is a major transition among all life on earth. There is mass cleansing of life and there is relocation of life all over the earth. Everything is getting more organized if you happen to observe carefully. But, adversely, what is happening is that we are giving more focus on the negativities that are happening like diseases, terrorism, calamities, etc. We must understand that we have ourselves invited all these. What the masses have been focussing on is now being manifested on earth. What in our past days we have been dwelling upon and "enjoying" is now been manifested to the fullest. So, when we now focus on negativities and things like DOOM or destruction are'nt we attracting it, even if it wasnt something that was supposed to happen? Focus more on the transition. Put more emphasis on the positivity of the outcomes of negativities. Then as a mass effect we shall see the earth's transition in its own positive way. Karmic cleansing will happen whether we want it or not, then why focus on these negativities. It is what one gave out that is now being returned. We do not have a choice or options on the outcomes of our past but we certainly do have choice and options for our future. Focus more on the good outcomes and you shall contribute to the goodness that earth will witness. The universe is unbiased and is always known to balance itself from time to time in the form of different reactions to our own actions. Let it do its job. Let us do our job - our job of aligning to how nature functions. Problems begin when we go against the law of nature. Let us flow with nature - with whatever is happening. When we collectively focus on the goodness, there shall be goodness.

But one thing is for sure.. the transition is happening and it is certainly moving towards the earth's transformation. All souls who wish to go with the change and adapt will support their own smooth transition and the souls that refuse to go with the change or oppose will certainly have a tough time holding to their old selves and old ways, thus resulting in what we call "suffering".

How you can contribute to the transition year 2012 or how can do something for the suffering on earth?

• Meditate regularly.
• Be at peace yourself first. The turmoil you see outside is obvious of your own inner turmoil.
• Light a candle or a diya whenever possible.
• Discuss more about peace than war and terrorism.
• Include a short prayer in your daily prayers for world peace.
• Do not get discouraged looking at the news. Don't get too absorbed in negative news.
• Do not criticize or blame anything wrong in nature. Nature knows its job and is doing it.
• Do not be scared of the year 2012. Trust the process.
• Do not fall into false propaganda about this year. Follow your heart.
• Be in tune with nature in all possible ways.
• Take time to bless the "unfortunate".

What's the commotion about 2012?

My yoga guru...

Recently I joined yoga classes to learn hatta yoga from my guru Dr. Abhay Kesthe. I was always attracted to hatta yoga (yoga involving intense postures). Soon opportunities manifested in itself with my friend Krishnaprasad telling me about B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga being run here locally by Dr. Abhay Kesthe. Soon we both found ourselves within his premises and learning this great art.

Shri. B.K.S. Iyengar, who turns 91 this year, is one of the foremost teachers of Yoga who innovated and brought yoga to the common masses with the use of props like belts, bricks, bolsters, ropes, etc. He is known throughout the world for his yoga disciplines and lives healthy and still practices yoga at the age of 91. He brought the difficult hatta yoga within the reach of the common man with the use of his own modified and innovated techniques and postures using various other aids to help one start off with. He is well known for his no-nonsense attitude and devotion to the yogic practices for physical as well as spiritual nourishment. He runs institutions in all the parts of the world. He currently lives in Pune. Unfortunately due to our other schedules, me and KP are not able to join our class collegues on Dec 14 and 15th as they plan to leave to meet guruji for his 91st birthday in Pune. But, we have hope to meet guruji during our Maharastra tour somewhere during the later part of December, 2008. My guru Dr. Abhay Keshte is a direct disciple of Shri. Shri. B.K.S. Iyengar, and I am happy to have met him through some or the other form that brought me in touch with this yoga. It is a great time from 6:15 to 8 am everyday with him where he demonstrates the asanas on the platform as we all follow his guidance. My guruji has been into yoga for more than 15 years now and runs two institutes in Belgaum under the name "Shrikant Yoga Center". Moments after our class he does stop in to talk a few casual words with all students. You can see him here in this picture in black outfit which was taken during one of his class earlier in Belgaum.

This form of hatta yoga is one of the most intense causing pain and strain to parts of the body as one holds in these postures for a period of time. He also takes separate classes for medical reasons and challenges treatment through yoga for most problems that medicines fail to cure. Release your pain unto you...

Everyday, in and out, anyone I meet, I see a common face in all of them.. something that is very common these days.. Behind the faking faces of unreal smiles and glory there lies a face of gloom, despair and sorrow.. I read it in almost all the faces I see everyday.

Life must go on, says their faking smiles and laughing faces that fail to hide the lines of worry and fear. Everyone carries within a genuine little story of their own. But fortunately the moment I find their true selves behind their made up bodies, they are more than happy to share their truths. These truths and bottled up feelings and emotions flow out heavily as they watch my attentive eyes and a non-reactive face. Everything spills and I listen and encourage them to pour it out. Most of them take pauses in between to reassure if I am listening or to recheck if they need to stop. Any ways, I listen. The first reaction that follows when they empty themselves is either embarassment or relief of releasing the miseries. With both reactions I am happy for I know they have done themselves great help of releasing those tormenting afflictions.

What follows is what I have to say about it, which isnt as important as my lending ears. A smile on my face during this one-sided interaction helps them feel safe and comfortable. What I discuss after that to them, again, isnt more important than the point I want to put across here. Lending a sincere ear to someone solves half the person's problem. The rest half is how you advice the person in an unbiased manner. I have seen that many open up to me because they know they will recieve an unbiased answer no matter what, and most of the time it is not what they want to hear. This is what actually lacks in every individual. The inability to see things or judge things for themselves in an unbiased way. This is because they fail to separate their true selves or soul with the concious or conditioned mind that has learnt and adapted everything right from birth till date. The moment one learns to separate or detach from the concious mind or the ego mind, true answers from the divine follows. There is no need then to take these advices or guidances from any person for the same true advices are within oneself.

Meditation gives insight to one's true self. Meditate and contemplate on your own soul and it will open the flood gates to infinite answers. Release your every anguish, pain, suffering, guilt, fear in meditation and recieve the same answers and assurance you seek within another being. It works!

I have noticed

Its quite strange what I noticed... not sure if you have noticed....

• I have noticed that we want to be happy but we are not happy seeing others happy just because we are not....
• I have noticed that we want peace in this world but we are don't want to give a second thought about giving up the thought on having the last word in argument with our close ones....
• I have noticed that we pray hard to eradicate poverty and for the misfortuned and less privileged but we never think of blessing an unfortunate being as we pass by them...
• I have noticed us feeling very bad when we watch a tiger pounce on a helpless harmless animal but never showing mercy when we kick an animal or aim our best shot with an air-gun at that little happy sparrow on the roof....
• I have noticed that we bless the couple at their weddings and very next day frown comparing our noisy marriage with that blessed happy marriage....
• I have noticed that we never cease to look at others spouses or boys/girls and even pass a dirty remark at them in our minds but when our husbands or wives are along we condemn everyone involved in this practice....
• I have noticed that we feel hurt and resentful when someone shouts at our kids for doing wrong but never hesitate to punch their children in the nose when they are being a nuisance...
• I have noticed that our daughter-in-law is always creating trouble in the house but we are ready to fight out everything when our own daughter fights at her home; even if she is at fault...
• I have noticed that the entire world is a sinner and they must be punished and insulted for what they did but when our own sons and daughters err then we must fight out the world for them!
• I have noticed that when others hurt us we have to spit out the anger and vengeance against them but when our own people's errors are questioned, we excuse that we are not being quiet but we are suppressing our sorrows with eyes full of tears....
• I have noticed that we know intuitively we are wrong with all the above but yet forget it and are back to our lives the very next minute...
• I have noticed that we have all of the above problem because we only have walked in our shoes!
• I have noticed that this beautiful world is strange because I fail to understand that it is made up of strange people!
